Multilingual Kanji Learning Application "TUFS Multiling”

This is a free app for studying kanji taught in Japanese schools from first through third grade. It is based on the popular Educational Materials for Children with Non-Japanese Ethnicity which can be downloaded free from the TUFS Center for Multilingual, Multicultural Education and Research website. The app offers definitions and explanations of kanji in 8 different languages--Portuguese, Spanish, Vietnamese, Tagalog, Thai, English, Bengali, and Japanese—so you can learn in the language of your choice.

In addition to illustrations that match the kanji, you can practice the stroke orders with a drawing function. Quiz questions are presented in a drill format with sound effects to further facilitate your learning. Not only can you listen to the correct pronunciation of kanji, but there is also a recording function that allows you to listen to your own voice and the teacher's voice as many times as you like.

This app is still in the development stage. We hope to improve it and enhance its functions with the help of our users.
