Former Japanese Ambassador to Kyrgyzstan Visits TUFS as Guest Lecturer

October 30, 2017

On Friday 29 th September, the former ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary to Kyrgyzstan, Takayuki Koike, visited TUFS as a guest lecturer for the latest lecture in the 'Lively Diplomat' Series, 'Things to Learn from the People of Kyrgyzstan,' held by the Information Center for Social and International Collaboration.

The first half of the lecture focused on Kyrgyz society, mainly concerning foreign policy and domestic affairs etc., whereas the second half focused on Kyrgyzstan-Japan relations, and differences between Japanese and Kyrgyz society.
Since the lecture focused on a country not often discussed in Japan, there were also many participants from outside of TUFS, making for a very successful event.
More information on this event can be found on the Information Center for Social and International Collaboration website and Facebook (pages in Japanese).
