The Kickoff Symposium entitled "FY2015 Re-Inventing Japan Project (Latin America): A Co-Creative Education Program of Humanities and Sciences between TUFS, TUAT, and UEC" Held on February 19th

On the 19th of February 2016 (Fri), The Kickoff Symposium entitled “FY2015 Re-Inventing Japan Project (Latin America): A Co-Creative Education Program of Humanities and Sciences between Tokyo University of Foreign Studies (TUFS), Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology (TUAT), and the University of Electro-Communications (UEC)” was held in the Prometheus Hall at TUFS.
Continuing after President Tateishi gave the Organizers address, Deputy-Director of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (Higher Education Bureau), Mr. Yasuki Masao and Presidents of Foreign Partner Universities spoke about their expectations for this enterprise. Following this, Vice-President Iwasaki went on to give an explanation regarding this enterprise and the combined aims of the three universities involved.
During the following panel discussion titled “Expectations from this program” there was a lively exchange of opinions from external experts.
After the ending address from President Matsunaga of Tokyo University of Agriculture and Technology, a percussion instrument performance was held from the Brazilian research team of TUFS, a traditional Japanese instrumental performance performed by the Chikutoukai of TUAT and a dance performance carried out by the competitive dance team of UEC.
Starting from this academic year, the project is due to last for 5 years collaborating with 3 universities and through the exchange project between Latin American countries and Japan, we are aiming to train experienced global people of talent.
